Budvar: Campaign for Real Ale slams privatization plans

ČTK is reporting that the British organization Campaign for Real Ale has sharply criticized plans to privatize the Budvar brewery.

"In this day of inferior, bland contract-brewed lagers, Budvar is unique and it is essential that this brewing gem doesn't fall into the hands of a global predator," CAMRA spokesman Mike Benner said.

"Budweiser Budvar is the last truly internationally recognised premium beer brewed solely in the Czech Republic," said Benner and added the firm was going from strength to strength, despite global disputes with US brewer Anheuser-Busch.
